Job description and skills:
- Worked in a very busy dispensary with a huge emphasis on the pharmacist spending one on one time with patients. This taught me how to work well under pressure and also the importance of delegating tasks efficiently to support staff .
- Assisted in the implementation of SOPs to fulfil PSI requirements
- Worked with the software companies ARX and MPS to implement the robotic dispensary system in the dispensary and trained in new staff on how to use the system and troubleshooting.
- Created protocols and stepwise methodologies for staff members to improve dispensary efficiencies and hence reducing patient waiting times.
- Introduced methods to increase generic medicine dispensing to patients offering them better value and retaining customers during a volatile time in pharmacy.
- Introduced a new filing and recording system for prescriptions to make it easier for the business to comply with new PSI guidelines and regulations
- Responsible for end of day tasks and closing of the shop and was a key holder for the business.
- Monitored the costs of medicines especially unlicensed medicines from various wholesalers, to ensure the pharmacy could get medicines at low costs and deliver value to our patients.
- Developed protocols to reduced dispensing errors with patients requiring their medicines to be blister packed or needed supervised phased dispensing.
